Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrive in Guwahati. Drive to Shillong, stopping by the massive Umiam Lake (Barapani). Check in to your hotel. Visit Police Bazar in the evening. Overnight in Shillong.
Drive to Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth. Visit Elephant Falls, Laitlum Canyons, and Nohkalikai Falls (India's tallest plunge waterfall). Overnight in Cherrapunji.
Trek down 3,000 steps to the village of Nongriat to see the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge and Rainbow Falls. Trek back or stay in a local rustic homestay. Overnight in Nongriat/Cherrapunji.
Visit Mawsmai Cave and Arwah Cave. Drive to Mawlynnong village. Walk around the village, see the Balancing Rock, and check out the Single Root Bridge. Overnight in Mawlynnong/Dawki camp.
Head to Dawki. Enjoy a boat ride on the transparent waters of Umngot River. Travel to Shnongpdeng for ziplining, kayaking, and camping by the riverside. Overnight in riverside tents.
Drive back to Shillong. En route, visit the breathtaking blue pools of Krang Shuri Waterfall. Spend the evening shopping at Shillong markets. Overnight in Shillong.
Drive to Guwahati. Visit the Kamakhya Temple on Nilachal hill. Transfer to Guwahati airport/railway station for your departure.
